Role overview
The role is a senior accounting position within Paytm’s Finance Team, responsible for managing all aspects of accounts payable and receivable, accounting operations, daily revenue and expense reconciliation, and vendor management. The incumbent will lead a small team, coordinate month‑to‑year end closings, ensure tax compliance, and produce MIS reports while liaising with internal stakeholders and handling audit activities.
Responsibilities
- Manage all account payables and receivables, accounting operations, and daily reconciliation of revenue & expense items
- Lead a small team and oversee vendor management
- Handle accounting functions such as Procure to Pay accounting, GL accounting, Fixed Assets accounting, reporting, and reconciliations
- Plan and drive month/quarter/year‑end accounts closing activities within agreed timelines
- Ensure compliance of direct/indirect taxes and secure required approvals as per company policy
- Liaise with internal stakeholders or business users for settlement of vendor advances, timely clearance of vendor payments, and issue resolution
- Maintain and extract reports/MIS at Cost centre/Profit Centre level
- Verify/vouch custom‑related documents such as Bill of Entry, Bill of Lading or Airway Bill, import license, Letter of Credit or LC
Requirements
- Minimum 6-10 years of experience in the Payable domain
- Good knowledge of accounting entries, GST, TDS, and foreign remittances
- Must have worked in SAP Accounting
- Proficient in handling statutory audits, tax audits, internal audits, and other audits as required
- Well‑versed with accrual and provisioning concepts and with maintaining/extracting reports/MIS at cost centre/profit centre level
- Good communication and strong interpersonal skills
- Hard‑working, detail‑oriented, and a good team player
- Post‑Graduation in Finance or Qualified CA / CA Intermediate
