Role overview
The Opportunity section describes a Quality work role focused on developing, identifying, analyzing and improving existing general business processes (back-end processes not related to manufacturing). It involves applying process definition, improvement and design methodologies, developing documentation, planning quality assurance and compliance processes, and may include training/change management support. It includes Six Sigma/Lean/Kaizen practitioners in a non-manufacturing environment, and a Team Leader (M2) who supervises professional level employees, setting goals, addressing problems, and ensuring policies, practices and procedures are understood and followed.
Responsibilities
- Quality work focuses on developing, identifying, analyzing and improving existing general business processes (i.e., back-end processes not related to manufacturing)
- Applying process definition, improvement and design methodologies to identify, analyze and improve business processes to improve quality, reduce costs, increase efficiencies/productivity, increase customer satisfaction, etc.
- Developing documentation to support analysis and improvement including business requirements, functional specifications, process maps, gap/problem analysis, etc.
- Planning implementing quality assurance and compliance processes
- In some organizations may include supporting development of training and/or change management materials and activities to support new processes and procedures
- Setting goals and objectives for team members for achievement of operational results
- Ensures policies, practices and procedures are understood and followed by direct reports, customers and stakeholders
- People manager for the team, Lead and coach the local QR team in accordance with HR processes and in addition to agreed plan, budget, and strategy
- Ensure compliance to or get approved deviations from HVDC instructions and guidelines for site quality processes
- Contribute and drive HVDC Q&CI Culture & strategy as one HVDC Quality team. Contribute to the strategy and development of the department by being part of the Site Quality Management team
- Propose & drive initiatives / changes within own area (processes, organization, strategy – QIP, etc.)
- Define and communicate with main local stakeholders in HVDC and PGGI. Foresee and plan staff and budget requirements based on S&OP as agreed with manager
- Recruiting, onboarding and offboarding of own team members. Provide input and/or hold salary discussion for own team according to local processes
- Ensure through continuous competence management that own staff have or will acquire the necessary competence and skills to perform their assignments (competence matrix, FCA). Perform GPM according to process
- Ensure that roles, responsibilities, requirements, and authorities are clarified & communicated to the team and that personal role descriptions are discussed, updated and shared
- Ensure that Q&CI reporting and action on deviations are done on time. If applicable participate in local/region management teams
- Follow-up on site performance within area of responsibility. Ensure CoPQ for site activities is identified and reported according to HVDC Process
- Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines
