Role overview
Mactores is the agent-native AWS modernization firm focused on shipping production systems that actually run, replacing stalled pilots and budget overruns with working deployments. Their delivery model combines Aedeon, an agent platform that automates 60-70% of typical engagement work, with forward-deployed engineers who handle architecture, judgment, and committed cutover dates. As a Cloud Engineer intern, you'll work in 24x7 operational support, configuring, deploying, and troubleshooting enterprise software in real customer production environments while building the foundations—Linux administration, monitoring, clear communication—that make customer cutover possible. You'll learn the agent-native craft from the operational side, understanding how production systems stay healthy, how automation replaces human toil, and how a firm that commits to fixed delivery dates maintains operational excellence.
