Role overview

Hitachi, Ltd. is seeking a skilled and experienced ServiceNow Sr. Developer to contribute to the design, development, and implementation of ServiceNow solutions. This offshore role will focus on enhancing and maintaining our ServiceNow platform, ensuring optimal performance and alignment with business requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, configure, and customize ServiceNow applications and modules, including Incident, Problem, Change, Service Catalog, CMDB, and Discovery.
  • Develop and implement integrations between ServiceNow and other enterprise systems using various technologies (REST, SOAP, MID Server, etc.).
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, development guides, and test plans.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, solution architects, and other stakeholders to gather requirements, define scope, and ensure successful project delivery.
  • Perform unit testing, integration testing, and support user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure solution quality and functionality.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for ServiceNow-related issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
  • Participate in code reviews, ensuring adherence to best practices, coding standards, and architectural guidelines.
  • Stay current with ServiceNow platform releases, new features, and industry best practices.
  • Mentor junior developers and share knowledge within the team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience as a ServiceNow Developer, with a strong understanding of the platform's architecture and capabilities.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript, GlideScript, HTML, CSS, and ServiceNow APIs.
  • Extensive experience with ServiceNow development tools and methodologies, including scripting, workflow design, UI policies, client scripts, business rules, and UI actions.
  • Demonstrated experience with ServiceNow integrations (REST, SOAP, JDBC, LDAP, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of ITIL principles and best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, offshore environment.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.

Nice to have

  • ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD) and/or Certified System Administrator (CSA) certifications are highly preferred.
