Skill Required

Product-EngineerFull-Stack-DeveloperSoftware-EngineerAI-Integration-EngineerProduct-DeveloperProduct-Software-EngineerProduct-Development-EngineerEngineeringJavaScriptsecuritybuildingPostgreSQLOpenAPIRustHTMLAPIsNode.jsCSSGitandGoAIContract

Key highlights

  • Paid contract role (full compensation for time & expertise)
  • Full‑time 40 hours/week, remote with US time‑zone overlap
  • Initial 2‑month contract with possibility to continue
  • Hard requirement: shipped a product using an agentic coding harness that was used by others
  • Stack: vanilla JS single‑file monolith, Supabase, Netlify (no framework)
  • Product: AI orchestration layer for judgment‑critical work

Role overview

There is a working product. There is one founder. There is no team yet. The product needs someone to take it the rest of the way — finish the build, harden it, test it, put it in front of the first real users, and stay close enough to those users to know what to fix next. That's the job. It is not a well‑defined ticket queue. It's closer to: here is the thing, here is what "done" means, go. This is a paid contract role. We're paying for your time and your expertise, and we expect to pay properly for both.

Responsibilities

  • Finish the remaining feature work; hide or cut what isn't ready
  • Perform an aesthetics and UX pass so the product feels like a finished product, not a prototype
  • Fix the open bug list and expand test coverage
  • Conduct a security hardening pass ahead of real users (working with a separately budgeted external review)
  • Ship the product to real users (Alpha phase)
  • Onboard users from signup to first genuine use without hand‑holding
  • Provide direct user support by answering emails
  • Instrument the product enough to know what people actually do versus what they say they do
  • Turn Alpha behaviour into the Beta roadmap
  • Help decide who the product ships to first: individual professionals, small firms, or enterprise
  • Build the systems and documentation that enable a bigger team to pick the product up later

Requirements

  • Hard requirement: you have shipped something real inside an agentic coding harness (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Aider, or equivalent) as your main development environment, and it has been used by someone other than you
  • Must be able to read code carefully, spot hidden errors, and understand system‑wide impact of changes
  • Must have a strong instinct for the user side and be able to judge usability and adoption potential
  • Must have finished at least one small project that shipped, got users, and was supported for months
  • Must be comfortable working with the stack: vanilla JS single‑file monolith (no framework), Supabase (Postgres, auth, storage), Netlify (deploy on push), Provider APIs (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google), Node for tooling and tests
  • Must be able to work full‑time (40 hours/week), remote, with overlap into US morning or evening hours
  • Must be willing to engage in a contract role: 2‑month initial term with possibility to continue
  • Application must be sent via email containing: one thing shipped using an agentic harness (link, description of errors caught), whether anyone other than you used it (numbers, duration, issues), five lines describing the first three things you would do with a working product and zero users, and one thing you have killed (feature/project) and why

Nice to have

  • Experience with deep security or infrastructure specialization (not required but beneficial)
  • Familiarity with building products for judgment‑critical domains
  • Experience with AI model orchestration layers or coordinating multiple frontier models
  • Prior startup experience (not required)
  • Strong judgment and ability to make product decisions without relying on formal processes

Benefits

  • Paid contract role with proper compensation for time and expertise
  • Full‑time 40 hours/week, remote work with required overlap with US morning/evening hours
  • Initial 2‑month engagement with the possibility to continue
  • External security review budgeted separately (you will work with it, not carry it alone)
  • Shortlisted candidates receive a full walkthrough of the existing product and a coding interview
  • No cover letter or CV required; focus is on judgment and demonstrated work

Additional details

  • Product being built: an orchestration layer that sits above frontier AI models — Claude, GPT, Gemini — and coordinates them rather than picking one
  • Target audience: people whose work product is judgment, where being wrong is expensive and "the AI said so" is not acceptable
  • Current state: core product works end‑to‑end, real documentation and decision‑log discipline in place (architecture invariants, contracts, decision record, git hooks), known open bugs, unfinished surfaces, UI needs aesthetics pass, never had a user other than the founder
  • Stack: Frontend – vanilla JS, HTML, CSS single‑file monolith (no framework); Backend – Supabase (Postgres, auth, storage); Hosting – Netlify (deploy on push); Provider APIs – Anthropic, OpenAI, Google; Node for tooling and tests
  • Engagement terms: Contract, full‑time 40 hours/week, duration 2 months starting immediately, remote, US startup, overlap with US morning/evening hours required
  • What we are not asking for: a degree, a specific number of years, a recognizable logo on your CV, deep security or infrastructure specialization (will be brought in as needed), prior startup experience
