Role overview
Egnyte is seeking a Mid-Level Python Developer & Test Automation Engineer (3‑5 years experience) to design and develop backend systems and build scalable automated testing frameworks for UI and backend applications. The role bridges development and quality assurance, ensuring software is functional, secure, and rigorously tested while collaborating within an agile, values‑driven environment.
Responsibilities
- Design, write, and maintain clean, scalable Python code for backend services and microservices.
- Build, integrate, and document secure RESTful or GraphQL APIs.
- Design and maintain UI/Backend automated testing suites for unit, integration, and end‑to‑end testing.
- Integrate automated test scripts into DevOps pipelines to enable continuous deployment.
- Identify, log, and track software defects while collaborating with teams to resolve them quickly.
- Participate in code reviews to enforce PEP 8 standards, maintainability, and security best practices.
Requirements
- 3+ years of professional software development experience using core Python and Object‑Oriented Programming (OOP).
- Hands‑on experience with at least one major Python web framework (FastAPI, Django, or Flask).
- Strong proficiency with automated testing tools like pytest, unittest, Selenium.
- Solid experience writing complex queries for relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL) or NoSQL (MongoDB) databases.
- Proficient with Git version control and CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment with tools like Jira or Confluence.
- Mid‑Level Python Developer & Test Automation Engineer with 3 to 5 years of experience.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of Playwright.
- Experience with AI‑assisted testing tools or frameworks.
- Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Knowledge of performance and load testing tools like Locust or JMeter.
