Role overview
We invite experienced professionals to join QAE India as Senior Java Developers to contribute to the development of the next-generation portfolio risk analytics and modeling engine. As part of a high‑performing team, you will play a key role in transforming our portfolio risk analytics platform into a more scalable and modular architecture.
Responsibilities
- Design new modules and APIs.
- Develop application servers that offer clients innovative methods for leveraging our analytics and models.
- Provide technical leadership to junior team members.
- Engage with users and stakeholders to gather and refine external client requirements.
- Collaborate closely with quantitative researchers and product managers at BlackRock to fully understand business use cases and identify opportunities to enhance operational efficiency on the newly developed platform.
- Work in an integrated, agile team with a focus on quality of work validated through automated testing.
- Collaborate closely with quantitative researchers, product managers, and platform engineers to develop robust risk and optimization solutions.
- Develop scalable, high‑throughput analytical software for portfolio risk analytics.
Requirements
- B.E/ B.Tech/ Masters in Computer Science or related field.
- Experienced in enterprise software development: 6+ years of hands‑on Core Java experience.
- In‑depth understanding of Java internals, memory and performance optimization and tools.
- Quantitative developer with practical experience working with numerical computer methods.
- Prior experience working in investment management industry.
- Ready to lead; work experience where you were responsible for or owner of an application, project or component.
- Willingness and ability to provide tutoring and mentorship to less experienced team members.
- Familiar with Java 17.
- Basic knowledge of calculus and linear algebra.
- Familiar with investment management business domain.

- Java and Python math modelling libraries.
- Messaging systems like MQ or Kafka.
- Google Protocol Buffers.
- Unix systems (Red Hat, Ubuntu).
- Profiling tools (VisualVM, JProfiler).
