Role overview
The Site Manager is responsible for the successful execution of all activities on the assigned construction site, ensuring on-time, within-budget delivery as per contractual scope and requirements. The role involves maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance while acting as the main interface with customers, local authorities, and subcontractors. The Site Manager oversees medium to large EPC converter station projects or serves as Deputy Site Manager in large projects, fostering a culture of adherence to Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) regulations and contractual obligations.
Responsibilities
- Act as the main interface to the Customer on all contractual matters and maintain a good relationship with local authorities and organizations
- Read, understand, and identify risks and opportunities in typical construction contracts relevant to the work
- Manage manpower requirements on site and drive site activities to achieve contractual milestones and targets
- Ensure all personnel on site are well informed about the Scope of Work (SoW) and Division of Work (DoW)
- Manage change management on site, including variation orders to subcontractors
- Warrant that all tests are performed and accepted by the customer according to contractual conditions
- Foster a culture of proper understanding and adherence by all site personnel to the Health, Environment, and Safety (HSE) requirements of the business, Customer, and local authorities
- Ensure all activities are done with the expected quality and that all quality records are created and properly archived
- Ensure all permits, licenses, and requirements are in place for compliant execution of site activities
- Ensure structured, up-to-date, and reliable documentation handling on site and towards Headquarters
- Guarantee all activities are performed within defined contractual schedules and milestones
- Understand the project budget and ensure costs for site activities are maintained within budget
- Ensure contractual obligations are met to the satisfaction of customers
- Ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or civil engineering
- 10+ years of experience working as a Site Manager on construction sites in the energy sector or similar industries, particularly in medium and large size projects
- Sound commercial awareness, contracts management experience, and business acumen
- Experience in Civil Works, Installation, and/or Commissioning
- Relevant and Certified knowledge and experience in the field of HSE
- Very structured and organized, with good people management skills, collaboration, and teamworking spirit
- Resilient with excellent customer interface and communication skills
- Proficiency in both spoken and written English language
- Willingness to travel within India
