Role overview
Swimlane is redefining security operations with Agentic AI automation, utilizing a low-code platform that combines automation, orchestration, and intelligent reasoning to unlock operational autonomy across the modern SOC. As a Senior Platform / DevOps Engineer, you will build and maintain standardized container images and CI/CD pipelines that power the cloud-native platform. You will improve build performance, security, and reproducibility while setting best practices for container design, dependency management, and supply-chain security across teams.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain standardized base container images that service teams can extend
- Own and improve CI/CD pipelines to make them reliable, fast, and observable
- Establish best practices for: Docker image layering and optimization, Dependency management, and Build caching and reproducibility
- Partner with security teams to integrate vulnerability scanning into CI/CD and reduce blast radius and remediation time for CVEs
- Improve developer experience by reducing friction in builds and deployments and creating clear documentation and golden paths
- Act as a multiplier for engineering teams by enabling them to ship safely and confidently
- Influence architecture and tooling decisions across the platform
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in DevOps, Build Engineering, or Platform Engineering
- Strong hands-on experience with: Kubernetes (EKS preferred), AWS (IAM, ECR, EC2, networking fundamentals), and Docker and container image design
- Deep experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, etc.)
- Experience standardizing platforms across multiple teams or services
- Solid understanding of: Supply chain security, Vulnerability scanning tools (e.g., Trivy, Snyk, Grype, Clair), and SBOMs and dependency management
- Ability to balance technical depth with organizational influence
- Strong communication skills and comfort working across teams
Nice to have
- Experience building internal developer platforms
- Infrastructure-as-Code experience (Terraform, CloudFormation)
- Familiarity with policy-as-code (OPA, Conftest)
- Experience in regulated or security-conscious environments
- Prior experience acting as a “force multiplier” for large engineering orgs
