Intel 471 empowers enterprises, government agencies, and other organizations to win the cybersecurity war using real-time insights about adversaries, their relationships, threat patterns, and imminent attacks. The company’s platform collects, interprets, structures, and validates human-led, automation-enhanced intelligence, which fuels external attack surface and advanced behavioral threat hunting solutions. Customers use this operationalized intelligence to drive proactive responses, neutralize threats, and mitigate risk. Intel 471 is seeking a proactive, adaptable QA Automation Engineer to support the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) for a fast-moving product track. The role is remote, based in Europe, on a contract (B2B) basis, and requires working in an AI-augmented way, leveraging AI coding assistants to accelerate test creation, debugging, and coverage while ensuring correctness, reliability, and security.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to quality processes across the planning, development, and release stages of the SDLC.
- Use AI-assisted development tools to design, generate, validate, and maintain test assets at scale.
- Review and critically evaluate AI-generated test output before it enters the repo, catching false positives, coverage gaps, and wrongful assertions.
- Be able to judge the usefulness of AI vs hands-on testing.
- Develop and maintain end-to-end tests (UI, API, integration) and increase automation coverage for regression suites.
- Collaborate with developers, product teams, and QA leadership to define quality standards and communicate risk clearly.
- Adapt processes quickly in response to a changing product environment.
Requirements
- 3+ years with Playwright and strong JavaScript / TypeScript / Node.js knowledge.
- 3+ years testing REST APIs within a BDD (Cucumber) approach, using Python or Java.
- Hands-on experience with Postman for API testing, exploration, and debugging.
- Hands-on experience using AI assistants (Claude, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or equivalent) in a real engineering workflow, with a clear understanding of their strengths and limitations, and the ability to extract reliable, production-ready output.
- Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and integrating automated test suites into pipelines.
- Demonstrated, quantifiable impact from past QA work (time saved, defect catch rate, coverage improvement).
- Very good English communication skills, written and spoken.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think outside the box on complex or ambiguous testing challenges.
- Ability to estimate and manage your own time and prioritize effectively.
- Ability to communicate automation strategy, coverage, and results clearly with product stakeholders.
- Proactive, curious approach — willing to learn and grow.
Nice to have
- Experience building or improving AI-assisted tooling (prompts, pipelines, generators).
- Experience integrating AI tooling into QA processes (AI-assisted test generation, self-healing tests, LLM-based test data generation).
- Experience with testing agents or test-focused MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers and tooling.
- Familiarity with Agile / Scrum environments.
Benefits
- Competitive compensation
- Remote-friendly culture
- Wellness programs
- Employee recognition program
- A variety of professional development opportunities
- Inclusive culture focused on people, customers and innovation
