Role overview
We are seeking a skilled Software Developer with strong expertise in Core PHP and API development to design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance backend services. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience building RESTful APIs, integrating third-party systems, and working with databases in a fast-paced development environment.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs using Core PHP.
- Integrate third-party APIs, payment gateways, CRM systems, and external services.
- Develop secure, scalable, and high-performance backend applications.
- Collaborate with frontend developers, business analysts, and project managers to deliver solutions.
- Create and maintain API documentation and technical specifications.
- Implement authentication and authorization mechanisms such as JWT, OAuth, and API tokens.
- Optimize application and API performance through code improvements and database tuning.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application and integration issues.
- Write clean, reusable, and maintainable code following coding standards.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to system architecture discussions.
- Ensure application security, reliability, and scalability.
Requirements
- 7–12 years of experience in software development.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in PHP development.
- Strong proficiency in Core PHP.
- Hands-on experience in designing and developing RESTful APIs.
- Experience with MySQL database design, query optimization, and stored procedures.
- Knowledge of JSON, XML and API integrations.
- Experience with authentication methods such as JWT, OAuth 2.0, and API keys.
- Experience creating and integrating API’s in current or previous roles.
- Experience owning and maintaining API documentation and technical specifications.
- Familiarity with Git version control.
- Experience using Postman or similar API testing tools.
- Understanding of web security best practices and performance optimization.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
Nice to have
- Experience with PHP frameworks such as CakePHP, Laravel, or CodeIgniter.
- Knowledge of microservices architecture.
- Familiarity with Docker and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
- Experience with Redis, caching mechanisms, and queue systems.
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes
