Role overview
OpenVPN Inc. is looking for a seasoned Automation QA to provide rigorous automated testing for the OpenVPN core program, which powers the open-source OpenVPN protocol, OpenVPN3 Linux client, and commercial products like Access Server, CloudConnexa, and OpenVPN Connect. You will work within a team of mostly senior developers responsible for guarding product integrity and security and paving the way for future developments.
Responsibilities
- Develop automated QA processes for server/client-based applications
- Document and maintain QA processes and test matrices
- Develop and implement testing plans for new features
- Implement and integrate regression tests into automated environments
- Define acceptance criteria for developed artifacts
- Coordinate QA tasks with other teams
- Promote a culture of quality throughout the organization
Requirements
- Proven experience as a QA Engineer
- Proficiency with C++, C, Bash, and Git
- Experience with Linux/Unix, Shell usage is a must
- Expertise in test design techniques, testing methods, and type
- Experience with automating QA for server/client-based applications
- User experience with CI tools (such as Jenkins, Travis, or similar)
- Experience creating and maintaining test documentation
- Excellent communication skills in the international environment – we use English daily!
- Understanding and willingness to dive deeper into: Networking (VPN, OSI model layers, protocols, DNS, routing) and security concepts (TLS, PKI, encryption)
- Understanding and willingness to dive deeper into: Authentication protocols (PAM, LDAP, SAML/OAuth, AD) and security tools
- Understanding and willingness to dive deeper into: Understanding of SSL/TLS certificate use and PKI to be capable of establishing a private CA
