Full Stack Developer Intern

We build data-driven platforms, tools, and digital products that support our research, media, and advisory businesses worldwide. Role Description: Mercom India is looking for a motivated Golang Intern to join our team. This is a hands-on role where you will work on real production applications, APIs, and backend services using Go, collaborating closely with product, design, and senior developers. Key Responsibilities - Assist in developing and maintaining backend services and web applications using Golang and modern development practices - Build, test, and maintain RESTful APIs, microservices, and server-side logic - Work with databases, data models, and integrations across internal platforms - Debug, test, and optimize applications for performance, reliability, and scalability - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and implement product requirements - Participate in code reviews and follow best coding practices - Document code and contribute to technical documentation Required Qualifications - Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field - Basic understanding of Golang, including syntax, structs, interfaces, goroutines, and error handling - Familiarity with REST APIs, JSON, HTTP, and server-side application development - Basic knowledge of databases, SQL or NoSQL - Familiarity with Git or other version control systems - Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn - Familiarity with Python for AI/ML development and data processing Preferred Qualifications - Experience building small projects or APIs using Go - Exposure to frameworks or libraries such as Gin, Echo, Fiber, or Go standard library packages for web development - Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP - Familiarity with authentication, security best practices, Docker, or DevOps concepts - Personal projects, GitHub contributions, or a portfolio demonstrating backend or Golang work What You Will Gain - Hands-on experience working on production-level applications and backend services - Mentorship from experienced developers - Exposure to modern development tools and agile workflows - Opportunity for a full-time role based on performance - Certificate or letter of recommendation upon successful completion How to Apply Please share your resume along with links to your GitHub profile, portfolio, or relevant projects, if available.
