Role overview

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you’ll work closely with engineers, product managers, and operations to push the boundaries of what’s possible in enterprise integration. Responsibilities
- Design and develop new features for our iPaaS and APIM platform
- Work with a modern and diverse tech stack, including Java, C++, Lua, Docker, Kubernetes, Linux, Nginx, Tomcat, Apache, MySQL, SQL Server, Redis, Kafka, Elasticsearch, InfluxDB, and AWS services (S3, CloudFront, DynamoDB)
- Take ownership of projects from design through deployment, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance in a 24x7x365 environment
- Help and mentor others as you grow and become a successful engineer and developer
- Make data-driven decisions
- Listen to the input from peers and embrace a best idea strategy regardless of where or who ideas come from
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in building large-scale distributed applications
- Strong experience building multi-tenant SaaS applications
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills with great attention to detail
- Experience with Microservices and Cloud-based architectures/design patterns
- Strong experience in Java
- Substantial experience with top-tier RDBMS such as SQL Server and MySQL
- Excellent JavaScript, CSS, and HTML authoring skills
- Proficiency with JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, Node.js, or Go
- Familiar with application deployment via Docker and/or Kubernetes
- Hands-on experience with AWS services such as DynamoDB, S3, or CloudFront
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Capable of working in a distributed team and able to excel in a remote culture
- Self-driven and able to work on key initiatives
- Enjoys making things happen and listening to peer input
