Role overview
As a Senior Backend Engineer at Jitterbit, you’ll play a key role in designing and developing new features for our iPaaS and APIM platform. You’ll work within a collaborative, remote-first engineering culture, taking ownership of projects from design through deployment to ensure scalability, reliability, and performance in a 24x7x365 environment. Jitterbit provides a unified AI-infused low-code platform for integration, orchestration, automation, and app development. The Jitterbit Harmony platform, including iPaaS, API Manager, App Builder and EDI, helps organizations streamline operations, enhance data accessibility, and accelerate business transformation.
Responsibilities
- Designing and developing new features for our iPaaS and APIM platform
- Take ownership of projects from design through deployment, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance in a 24x7x365 environment
- Turn ideas into extremely reliable and scalable designs
- Code in such a way that other engineers find your code easy to comprehend, modify, and build upon
- Helping and mentoring others around you as you grow and become a successful engineer and developer
- Work on key initiatives
- Make data driven decisions
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in building large scale distributed applications
- Strong experience building multi-tenant SaaS applications
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills with great attention to detail
- Experience with Microservices and Cloud-based architectures/design patterns
- Strong Experience in Java
- Substantial experience with top tier RDBMS such as SQL Server and MySQL
- Excellent JavaScript, CSS and HTML authoring skills
- Proficiency with Javascript, TypeScript, Java Node.js, or Go
- Familiar with application deployment via Docker and/or Kubernetes
- Hands-on experience with AWS services such as DynamoDB, S3, or CloudFront
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Capable of working in a distributed team and able to excel in a remote culture
- Self-driven
- Ability to listen to the input from peers
- Believer in a best idea strategy regardless of where or who ideas come from
