Role overview
Virtuozzo is a leader in infrastructure system software for AI, offering an optimised operating system, orchestration, and management to service providers, SaaS companies, and the enterprise. They provide mainframe-like performance, reliability, and security while lowering cost and complexity. We are looking for a Senior Product Manager to lead strategic product direction for our core platform offerings. This high-impact role focuses on the core infrastructure layer behind Virtuozzo Infrastructure and Virtuozzo Storage, where compute, virtualisation, networking, and software-defined storage converge to support real workloads as a true alternative to public clouds.
Responsibilities
- Define and execute product strategy across cloud infrastructure, virtualisation, and storage components
- Engage deeply with engineering teams on system architecture, RFCs, design reviews, and technical specs
- Drive product innovation in performance engineering, scalability, and infrastructure optimisation
- Lead competitive benchmarking and shape product direction based on data and market trends
- Collaborate with hardware vendors (CPU, GPU, storage, networking) to deliver integrated, performance-optimised solutions
- Align roadmap and delivery across virtualisation, cloud management platforms, and infrastructure tooling for CSPs, MSPs, and enterprise providers
- Coordinate cross-product initiatives and ensure smooth integration with internal and third-party tools
- Identify emerging technology trends and guide long-term investments in innovation
- Support definition and enforcement of product quality KPIs, customer use cases, and performance benchmarks
Requirements
- Virtualisation: containers, hypervisors, orchestration, GPU virtualisation
- Storage: block, file, object; erasure coding, tiering, caching, replication
- Networking and security within distributed systems
- Experience writing Product Requirements Documents (PRDs) with detailed technical content
- Ability to align engineers, architects, and kernel developers around shared product goals
- Experience leading technical design discussions and architecture reviews and participating in RFC processes
- Strong cross-functional leadership across QA, DevOps, SRE, benchmarking, and compliance
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance and security standards (FIPS, GDPR, PCI-DSS)
- Proven ability to analyse performance benchmarks, define KPIs, and make product decisions grounded in data
- Excellent communication skills and ability to drive alignment between product, engineering, and field teams
- 5+ years of experience in technical product management OR 5+ years of hands-on experience in OS/storage/networking development or system-level Linux administration
