Role overview
Hitachi Energy India Development Centre (IDC) is a research and development facility with around 500 R&D engineers, specialists, and experts, who focus on creating and sustaining digital solutions, new products and technology, including product integration, testing, cybersecurity, and certification. The IDC, located in Chennai and Bangalore, collaborates with Hitachi Energy’s global R&D and Research centers across 15+ locations in 12 countries. Over the past 20 years, IDC has secured over 200 international papers and 150+ patents. Hitachi Energy is expanding its R&D teams to advance technology to the next level.
Responsibilities
- Have ownership of the main application technology to cover protection and control of the entire power system field
- Be involved and drive toward a solution for application issues or customer-related issues
- Review technical descriptions and user documentation to ensure quality is granted
- Ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines

Requirements
- Required Master’s or PhD degree in science
- Knowledge of power system protection and control application functions
- Programming, C-language coding, MATLAB/Simulink knowledge
- Knowledge of IEC standards and standardization
