Role overview

Toast is looking for a Director of Product Management to own and drive consequential charters within Toast Enterprise Core Platform, based in Bengaluru and embedded in our India R&D organization. This is not a contributing role — it is full charter ownership, end-to-end, with meaningful partnership with product, engineering, go-to-market, and customer teams across the company. The role specifically covers the Away Team (cross-codebase enterprise feature delivery) and Enterprise Reporting charters.

Responsibilities

Embrace and advocate for the use of AI tools to accelerate product discovery, streamline execution, and explore new product experiences - helping shape how we build and what we build.
Drive cross-codebase delivery. Partner with engineering and product owners across Toast's platform teams to ship enterprise features in their systems. Navigate competing roadmaps, set clear success criteria, and hold delivery against contractual commitments.
Define the enterprise reporting vision. Understand deeply how multi-location restaurant operators measure performance and make decisions. Translate that understanding into a multi-year roadmap for enterprise-grade reporting — one that positions Toast as the data platform our largest customers depend on.
Represent enterprise customers at the highest level. You will be the PM voice for some of the world's largest restaurant and hospitality brands in roadmap discussions, cross-functional reviews, and executive conversations. These are customers with signed contractual commitments and high expectations.
Operate across Bengaluru and the US. Partner daily with engineering, UX, solutions, go-to-market, and customer success across Bengaluru and US-based teams. This role requires consistent US Eastern Time overlap.
Contribute to Enterprise strategy. Your two charters — cross-platform delivery and analytics — sit at the intersection of every other Enterprise product charter. You will have a seat at the table on long-range planning, investment decisions, and what Enterprise looks like in three years.
Full ownership, not a slice. You own two complete charters, end-to-end. The Away Team and Enterprise Reporting are yours to define, drive, and deliver — with the scope and strategic altitude that comes with the director level at the company.
Write the playbook for genuinely unsolved problems. The cross-codebase delivery model and enterprise analytics vision are not solved problems at Toast.
Make roadmap decisions that directly affect how enterprise brands operating hundreds to thousands of locations worldwide run their businesses.
Operate from Bengaluru, owning product that runs in markets across the US and internationally — with the credibility and organizational standing to match.
Have direct exposure to VP/GM leadership and regular involvement in executive-level roadmap and strategy discussions, as the Enterprise segment is a company-level priority.

Requirements

15+ years of product management experience, with at least 5 years in enterprise or B2B SaaS — specifically owning complex product surface areas, not contributing to them
Strong ability to hire, develop, and lead high-performing teams
Track record of driving delivery that required cross-team coordination across engineering organizations that did not report to you. Influence without authority is core to this role.
Experience owning analytics, reporting, or data platform products — with a clear point of view on what makes enterprise reporting genuinely differentiated vs. table stakes.
Exceptional written communication. You move decisions forward with documents; you don't wait for meetings to create alignment.
Ability to maintain occasional US Eastern Time overlap (approximately 5:30 PM – 9:30 PM IST).
Comfort with ambiguity at the charter level — you have shaped product direction from scratch, not just executed against someone else's vision.
Commercial instincts. You understand how product decisions translate into revenue, retention, and customer value, and you make prioritization decisions accordingly.

Nice to have

Background in restaurant technology, hospitality, retail, or an adjacent industry with multi-location or franchise business model complexity.
Experience working in or alongside India-based engineering teams as part of a global product organization.
Familiarity with data infrastructure, analytics engineering, or enterprise BI tooling at scale.
Experience managing product commitments that are tied to enterprise contracts or MSAs.
