Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end execution for backend systems and infrastructure
- Build APIs, services, and real-time systems handling complex accounting logic
- Collaborate with founders, product, and frontend engineering to turn complex workflows into secure, performant systems
- Design, implement, and ship production-ready features at high speed
- Manage data migrations, scaling challenges, external integrations, and end-to-end reliability
- Drive measurable outcomes that accelerate DualEntry’s product velocity and stability
Requirements
- Hardcore work ethic and high agency
- 8+ years of experience in backend engineering
- Proven track record in high-growth, high-ownership environments
- Strong skills in PostgreSQL, SQL, ORMs, migrations, and schema design
- Experience with AWS or comparable cloud infrastructure
- Strong API design and testing experience
- Understanding of CI/CD, deployment, and production readiness
- Ability to manage complex systems with evolving requirements
- Fluent English (C1+) with clear communication
- Pragmatic: you like to move forward and make decisions based in reality (not theory)
- Hard working: 'You can work long, hard, or smart, but [here] you can't choose two out of three'
- Curious: you love to learn, are highly curious about new frameworks and solutions to engineering problems
- Fast-moving: you deploy daily, iterate quickly, and never wait for permission
