Role overview
The Data Scientist IV designs, develops, and programs methods, processes, and systems to consolidate and analyze unstructured, diverse big data sources, generating actionable insights and solutions. The role involves statistical modeling and analysis of structured and unstructured datasets to develop metrics, reports, and visualizations of trends and patterns.
Responsibilities
- Leads in the development and coding of software programs, algorithms and automated processes to cleanse, integrate and evaluate large datasets from multiple disparate sources
- Identifies meaningful insights from large data and metadata sources
- Interprets and communicates insights and findings from analysis and experiments to product, service, and business managers
- Proposes solutions and strategies to business challenges and presents to the executive board
- Creates data visualizations
- Leads and mentors others on the team
- Builds predictive models and machine‑learning algorithms
- Troubleshoots and tests database technical issues with development team
- Independently analyzes data sets to identify opportunities for increased accuracy and efficiency
- Performs quality assurance on data to determine potential data gaps
- Assembles large, complex data sets that meet functional / non‑functional business requirements
- Works with data and analytics experts to strive for greater functionality in data systems
- Uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways
- Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in‑depth evaluation of variable factors

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S/B.A) from a four‑year college or university and 8+ years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
- Networks with key contacts outside own area of expertise
- Excellent analytical skills, tenacious problem solver with strong verbal communication skills
- Experience working with Big Data to provide exploratory data analysis (EDA) to senior team leads
- SQL skills, including creating and modifying macros and creating dashboards using SQL coding
- Excellent written communication skills
- High level of attention to detail
- Ability to independently analyze large amounts of data, identifying, analyzing, and interpreting trends, gaps, and patterns in complex data sets
- Proficient in data engineering on GCP, AWS, and Azure, as well as in Python, R, and TensorFlow
- Experience using AI/ML and Generative AI for analytics, modeling, and data science
Nice to have
- Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field
