Role overview
Telum Media Group Pte Ltd is looking for a Senior QA Automation Engineer to take full ownership of quality and testing strategy across their platform. This role goes beyond executing test cases, requiring someone who can design, build, and maintain a scalable end-to-end automation suite using Playwright, while continuously improving testing processes and product quality. The ideal candidate is a strong technical tester who enjoys exploring edge cases, breaking systems to make them stronger, and working closely with developers and stakeholders to ship reliable, high-quality releases. As part of a distributed, English-speaking team, fluent written and spoken English is essential.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain a robust end-to-end automation framework using Playwright
- Develop and maintain automated UI, API, and integration tests
- Ensure strong regression test coverage across the platform
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines
- Define and maintain the overall testing strategy and test architecture
- Create structured test plans, test cases, and automation strategies
- Ensure appropriate integration, system, and regression testing
- Continuously identify new edge cases and testing scenarios
- Perform exploratory testing to uncover hidden issues
- Collaborate with developers to troubleshoot and resolve defects
- Ensure product reliability before releases
- Work closely with engineering, product, and business stakeholders
- Participate in planning sessions, feature discussions, and release reviews
- Provide insights and recommendations to improve product quality
- Use modern tools and AI-assisted workflows to improve testing efficiency
- Continuously improve the automation suite, processes, and documentation
- Stay updated with modern testing frameworks and quality engineering practices
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in automation testing
- Strong experience with Playwright (preferred) or similar automation frameworks
- Strong programming skills in JavaScript or TypeScript
- Experience building or maintaining automation frameworks from scratch
- Experience with API testing
- Experience integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines
- Experience using Git version control
- Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies and best practices
Nice to have
- Experience working in Agile development environments
- Experience with AI-assisted development or testing tools
- Experience testing data-driven or SaaS platforms
- Exposure to performance or load testing tools
