Role overview
Nuitée is building the API backbone for the global travel industry, transforming a fragmented travel ecosystem with simple, scalable, and API-first infrastructure. The role involves leading engineering for Pricing & Revenue, a core part of Nuitée's hotel booking infrastructure, where supplier connectivity, distribution, pricing, and monetisation come together with engineering decisions directly affecting performance, competitiveness, and margin.
Responsibilities
- Lead engineering for Pricing & Revenue, a core part of Nuitée's hotel booking infrastructure
- Own the technical direction, architecture, reliability, and delivery of the domain
- Lead and grow a small engineering team
- Work closely with Product and Trading
- Have autonomy to decide how to solve problems without approval layers
- Build a proper pricing engine and new trading capabilities on top of an established, revenue-generating platform
- Make architectural decisions and shape how the domain evolves
- Lead, mentor, and hire engineers while remaining deeply involved in the systems, code, and technical decisions
- Identify problems, make changes, and see their impact quickly
- Build a pricing engine that balances supply, demand, competitiveness, and margin across a complex hotel marketplace
- Return competitive rates quickly when each hotel search can involve around 200 supplier connections, with different response times and reliability
- Improve hotel search availability, currently around 42%, while ensuring customers can actually fulfill their bookings
- Automate rebooking, first for internal operations and eventually as a product for customers
Requirements
- Have led, mentored, and grown engineering teams while staying hands-on with architecture, code, and production problems
- Have built or improved marketplace, trading, or optimisation systems, with experience across both supply and demand
- Understand how pricing, inventory, distribution, and fulfillment interact in a marketplace
- Have strong Go experience and deep backend engineering expertise, including distributed systems, high-volume APIs, latency, concurrency, and reliability
- Can translate complex commercial problems into engineering decisions and build systems that deliver measurable outcomes
- Experience with marketplaces involving real-world inventory, such as mobility, delivery, ecommerce, or travel
