Role overview
The role is a Design Authority for an engineering discipline handling low to medium complexity projects. The individual will complete assignments on small projects or portions of larger ones, preparing a wide range of engineering documents, conducting R&D, performing cost and risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with contract specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.
Responsibilities
- Design authority for an engineering discipline with low to medium complexity.
- Complete assignments on small projects or portions of larger projects, cost‑effectively and in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards and safety requirements.
- Prepare Protection & Principle SLD, Schematics, Power supply scheme, Substation layouts – plan & sections, Standard technical specifications for major equipment.
- Conduct R&D activities to improve the work process.
- Perform comparison between AIS, GIS & PASS solutions and cost comparison between different solutions.
- Develop Bill of Materials, RFQs, vetting of vendor offers, engineering hours estimation, technical risk assessment and opportunity evaluation.
- Author assigned engineering activities for projects classified as Low and Medium engineering complexity.
- Support lead engineer for any technical issues.
- Ensure Engineering processes are applied and, if needed, agree on scaling with the lead engineer.
- Participate in Engineering Project Reviews and report progress and cost‑to‑complete to Engineering‑ and Project Manager.
- Establish contacts with suppliers for technical support, to improve material quality and/or to decrease costs.
- Obtain prototype products and develop technical tests.
- Ensure deliveries as per schedule and carry out regular reviews.
- Share project risks and opportunities from the area of work, technical, but also related to engineering progress, information/data availability and assumptions taken.
- Coordinate and take proactive actions to mitigate risks and lead to opportunities, follow‑up, and take calculated risk in pursuit of results and speed.
- Ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s engineering in Electrical with minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
- Knowledge of primary equipment such as circuit breakers, disconnectors, earthing switches, instrument transformers, power transformers, etc.
- Knowledge of HV grid power systems.
- Know‑how on design calculations related to Substation Engineering.
- Knowledge of relevant international standards e.g., IEEE, IEC.
- Knowledge in substation tendering and project engineering activities (technical & commercial).
- Providing optimized and customized solutions for various substation tenders (AIS, GIS, Hybrid, MoSS).
- Good understanding of civil and structural design elements of substations, such as transformer bundles, cable troughs, ducts, support structures, substation access roads, etc., and ability to prepare, review and validate Bill of Material for tenders or projects based on requirement.
- Know‑how on design calculations related to Primary Engineering and grounding system design, drawings and Bill of Materials.
- Individual contributor with in‑depth knowledge in a specific area to execute complex or specialized projects/challenges, thinking independently to challenge traditional solutions and applying established standards.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams.
- Proficiency in required CAD design tools (Autodesk Revit) and proficiency in required Engineering calculation tools.

- 3D competence preferred.
