Role overview

Brave is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join a team of 8 senior engineers, focusing on browser CI/CD and AWS infrastructure. In this role, you will reduce toil and build and support the automation and processes that enable Brave to reach 200 million users. You will work across hundreds of daily builds spanning over 1000 GitHub repositories using languages such as C++, Rust, Go, Python, JavaScript, Ruby, Kotlin, Bash/Shell, and HCL, shipping across multiple desktop and mobile platforms, architectures, and distribution channels. The role offers a fully remote, autonomous, and asynchronous work environment with no mandatory weekly meetings, zero on-call duty, no core hours, and no office requirement.

Responsibilities

  • Reduce toil and build and support the automation and processes that enable reaching 200 million users
  • Own and drive work end-to-end
  • Interface directly with other teams
  • Lead on best practices, PoCs and code for various initiatives, which can include features in the browser, search engine, or premium products
  • Work across multiple desktop and mobile platforms, architectures, and distribution channels
  • Handle build and release engineering, testing and reporting tools, code signing, app stores and distribution, and packaging

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience
  • Product engineer and continuous improvement mindset
  • AWS and Terraform
  • Automation and CI experience (ideally for mobile or desktop apps)
  • Responsible AI usage and able to use and review generated code
  • Extended and diverse operating system experience (Android, iOS, Linux, macOS, Windows)
  • Bash/Shell, Python, Kotlin, Groovy
  • Privacy and security knowledge
  • No visa sponsorship provided
