Role overview
The company seeks a Site Reliability Engineer (m/w/d) to strengthen its Product Gameserver Team. As an SRE, you act as architect and defender of our infrastructure, ensuring maximum uptime, performance, and stability so millions of players enjoy seamless gameplay. You will lead cluster operations, optimize performance, and maintain system reliability across the entire gaming ecosystem.
Responsibilities
- Act as cluster owner responsible for smooth and highly available operation of Kubernetes clusters, scaling, maintaining, and optimizing the environment where gaming adventures take place
- Serve as latency and bug hunter ensuring smooth operation of Go-written Kubernetes operators and other services, focusing on performance optimization and error detection
- Design infrastructure blueprints using Terraform, creating automated and reproducible bases via Infrastructure as Code so customers can build their own digital kingdoms
- Automate recurring manual tasks with Ansible for configuration management, deployments, and other processes to create stable and consistent environments
- Develop and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting systems (e.g., with Prometheus & Grafana) to identify issues before they lead to game over
Requirements
- Deep practical experience operating, managing, and troubleshooting Kubernetes clusters in a production environment
- Fluent knowledge of Terraform and ability to build and manage complex infrastructures using Infrastructure as Code
- Strong expertise in Ansible to eliminate manual processes and increase efficiency
- Thinking in concepts such as SLAs, SLOs, and Error Budgets with passion for building highly available and resilient systems
- Experience developing with Go and creating Kubernetes operators in Go, capable of optimizing existing ones at runtime
- Understanding of what gamers expect from a perfect platform
- Strong team player communication skills, able to explain complex technical matters clearly in English (German knowledge is a plus)
- Availability for trusted flexible working time to achieve better work-life balance
- Ability to work remotely within ±2 hours of Central European Time (CET) with a valid EU work permit (no relocation support)
