Role overview

As Fivetran and dbt Labs merge, they are combining their strengths to deliver a comprehensive data infrastructure layer that helps organizations move, transform, and trust their data. The Senior Revenue Accountant will play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely revenue recognition, working closely with the Revenue Manager to maintain best-in-class processes and controls. This role involves executing month-end and year-end close activities, reviewing sales contracts for revenue implications, and supporting the integration and automation of revenue processes as the companies align their end-to-end OTC (Order-to-Cash) processes.
Responsibilities
- Execute monthly accounting close activities and deliverables in NetSuite (i.e., journal entries, account reconciliations, analytics, and reporting), in compliance with ASC 606
- Perform ongoing contract review of closed deals and ensure appropriateness of revenue inputs for revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606
- Assist in tracking and assessing non-standard revenue contracts, as needed, for appropriateness of revenue recognition
- Draft and maintain technical accounting memos supporting judgmental revenue recognition positions, ensuring conclusions are well-documented and audit-ready
- Prepare revenue-related system reconciliations, investigate variances, and ensure timely resolution
- Assist in the design, data integration, and testing of NetSuite ARM
- Participate in testing for revenue system enhancements to ensure new features support compliance and data integrity
- Clearly and completely document all processes and procedures in line with control activities
- Support SOX and internal control walkthroughs, testing, and documentation for the revenue cycle, partnering with internal and external auditors as needed
- Identify process improvements and assist in automation efforts to drive efficiency
- Participate in ad hoc projects, such as supporting external audit requirements
Requirements
- 8-11 years of combined experience in revenue and/or public accounting
- Strong working knowledge of ASC 606
- Experience working in high-growth, SaaS companies
- Advanced Excel skills and ability to work with large datasets
- Meticulous, well-organized, and detail-oriented with a focus on precision
- Passion for process, continuous improvement, and leveraging technology
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with a clear, thoughtful, and service-oriented approach
- Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership over work and team success
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Confidence and curiosity in approaching new learning experiences
- Experience in the SaaS industry working with subscription, usage/consumption, and professional services revenue recognition
Nice to have
- Experience with ERP system implementations, mergers, and other process improvements
- CPA License or other equivalent certification
- Familiarity with systems: NetSuite ARM, Salesforce, Rocketlane, Stripe, SQL

Additional details
- This is a full-time position based out of the Bangalore office with a hybrid work model (two days in the office per week)
- The first three months for onboarding and month-end close will be in PST; everything else will be in EST
- Fivetran and dbt Labs merged in June 2026 and are aligning their end-to-end OTC processes
