Key highlights
- First content designer hire
- Fully remote / Globally distributed
- No college degree required
- Requires Figma or agentic tool design skills
- Focus on AI-powered app builder product
Role overview
Bolt.new by StackBlitz is a next-gen, AI-powered app builder that allows users to create, edit, and deploy full-stack web and mobile apps instantly in the browser. This is an opportunity for the first content designer to join a small, fully remote, globally distributed team to define the product's voice and ship content-led features end-to-end. The role is divided into two halves: owning content as a discipline by defining standards, voice, and patterns to leverage the rest of the team, and acting as the design DRI to scope and design features (such as onboarding and in-product education) from problem to shipment using Figma or agentic tools.
Responsibilities
- Set the standard and make it the default: Define Bolt's product voice, terminology, and patterns for repeating moments including prompts, errors, empty states, permissions, billing, and settings.
- Integrate standards into the design system, components, and internal agents so good copy holds up at the speed of shipping.
- Raise the bar on everyone's words by reviewing writing from across the company and providing feedback that improves people's judgment.
- Own the content strategy by bringing a point of view on what to say, when, and how much, shaping product direction from problem definition.
- Ship content-led features end to end (e.g., feature onboarding, in-product education, value prop delivery), acting as the design DRI to scope, design in Figma or build with agentic tools, and drive implementation without a product design partner.
- Work across the whole lifecycle, partnering with Marketing and CX to ensure consistent messaging before, during, and after the product experience.
Requirements
- A portfolio of product content work with at least two examples showing the problem, reasoning, what was rejected, and what changed after shipping, specifically for complex products at real scale.
- Ability to take a content-led feature from problem to shipped without a product designer, including designing it in Figma or building it with agentic tools to a shippable standard.
- Experience building a standard, system, or set of guidelines that other people actually used.
- Ability to give feedback that lands, including to people outside design who didn't ask for it or don't share the same vocabulary, and to other writers as a peer.
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
Nice to have
- Startup or small team experience.
- Experience shaping AI tools, or writing for products where the interface is a conversation.
- Experience writing for product, marketing and support content, or migrating knowledge between them.
- Consumer product experience.
- Experience watching a standard or system fail and being able to explain why.
Additional details
- Fully remote team, globally distributed.
