Role overview
Canonical is building a fully managed, open source MongoDB solution built on the Juju platform, designed as a user-controlled alternative to MongoDB Atlas and Amazon DocumentDB that enables high-performing, rock-solid deployments on any customer-chosen cloud, on-premises, VMs, machines, and Kubernetes environments. The role seeks an experienced senior Python developer with MongoDB expertise to join the small MongoDB team, where they will be a key contributor to this project, with their work having significant impact on the product and the broader open source ecosystem.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to building Canonical's fully managed MongoDB solution based on the Juju platform
- Develop and maintain the most reliable and secure methods for deploying and operating MongoDB across machines, VMs, public cloud, and Kubernetes environments
Requirements
- Experienced Python developer with a background in MongoDB
- Love technology and enjoy working with brilliant, highly skilled colleagues
- Accomplished senior Python programmer with experience working on challenging projects in mission-critical environments
- Experience operating and managing MongoDB clusters
- Experience with modern infrastructure deployment automation tools or traditional Linux systems administration, operations, and package management
- Passion for quality and automated testing
