Role overview
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of Quality Assurance within a dedicated implementation team
- Work closely with Development, Product, and QA teams to ensure comprehensive quality coverage throughout the software delivery lifecycle
- Combine manual testing, automation, API testing, technical investigation, and release support
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other QA Engineers
- Help continuously improve testing practices and product quality
- Own QA execution for your implementation team, ensuring comprehensive testing and high-quality product releases
- Design, develop, maintain, and improve UI automation using C#, Selenium, and xUnit
- Perform API testing using Postman and Newman, ensuring reliable integration and service-level coverage
- Conduct manual, functional, regression, integration, exploratory, and end-to-end testing across web applications, microservices, databases, and Azure/Microsoft Function Apps
- Participate in sprint planning, refinement, and other Agile ceremonies to identify risks and improve testability early in the development lifecycle
- Investigate complex defects and production issues using SQL, application logs, browser developer tools, and other diagnostic techniques
- Create and maintain test cases, test scenarios, regression suites, and QA documentation in Azure DevOps
- Support deployment and release activities, including pre-release regression and post-release validation
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve QA processes, automation coverage, testing efficiency, and overall product quality
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in software testing/QA, with strong experience working in Agile development environments
- Strong hands-on experience in test automation, including designing and maintaining automation frameworks
- Advanced or strong working knowledge of C#, with experience writing automated tests
- Hands-on experience with Selenium and xUnit or similar automation/testing frameworks
- Experience with API testing, preferably using Postman and Newman
- Strong working knowledge of SQL/MSSQL for data validation and defect investigation
- Experience with Azure DevOps, including Boards, test management, defect tracking, and QA documentation
- Good understanding of Git and version-control practices
- Experience working with Microsoft Azure or other cloud technologies
- Understanding of DOM structure, browser developer tools, and web application testing
- Experience with scripting, preferably PowerShell
- Ability to read and debug application logs and investigate complex technical issues
- Strong knowledge of functional, regression, integration, system, exploratory, and end-to-end testing
- Understanding of black-box and white-box testing techniques, web testing heuristics, and test case design
- Understanding of Agile methodologies and exposure to TDD/shift-left testing practices
- Strong written and spoken English communication skills
- Ability to work UK business hours
- Degree, diploma, apprenticeship, or equivalent professional experience in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
Nice to have
- Experience in e-commerce, SaaS, marketing technology, or high-volume data platforms
- Experience with Visio, Lucidchart, or similar workflow/diagramming tools
