Role overview
Glean is the Work AI platform that helps enterprises work smarter with AI, offering advanced enterprise search, an AI Assistant, and scalable AI agents on a secure, open platform. The company is seeking a Quality Assurance Lead to develop and drive its test automation charter, building frameworks, tools, and infrastructure for efficient, scalable testing. The role involves hands-on technical leadership in automation, performance testing, and CI/CD optimization, with a focus on reliability, maintainability, and speed. The ideal candidate will mentor QA engineers, collaborate with development teams, and ensure high-quality, testable systems in a hybrid work environment based in Bangalore.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development of test automation frameworks, focusing on reliability, maintainability, and speed
- Create reusable test libraries and components that can be shared across different product areas
- Lead technical implementation of performance testing and monitoring solutions
- Develop custom reporting and analytics tools to provide insights into test coverage and quality metrics
- Drive adoption of newer testing technologies and approaches (visual testing, accessibility, security, AI-assisted testing, etc.)
- Provide technical mentorship to QA engineers on automation best practices and framework usage
- Optimize test execution pipelines for faster feedback in CI/CD environments
- Implement solutions for test data management and synthetic data generation
- Partner with development teams to implement shift-left testing practices
- Lead root cause analysis for critical issues and drive systematic improvements to prevent recurrence
- Participate in code reviews to ensure testability and quality considerations are addressed early
Requirements
- 6-9 years of software testing experience with strong focus on automation
- Expert-level programming skills in Python or Java
- Deep understanding of testing framework architecture (page objects, custom assertions, reporting integrations)
- Strong experience with modern testing tools (Selenium, Playwright, Cypress etc) and API testing frameworks
- Experience building CI/CD pipelines and working with Containers
- Strong working knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS, GCP
- Experience with performance testing tools and methodologies
- Proven track record of building tools and frameworks used by engineering teams
- Understanding of testing patterns and anti-patterns in automation
