Role overview
The Hoisting & Headframe Engineer will lead the technical delivery of the engineering function for the hoisting and headframe systems. This role is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of mine hoisting equipment and structures, including the headframe, hoists, ropes, and safety systems. The engineer will oversee technical aspects of maintenance, repairs, upgrades, and new installations while ensuring compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
Responsibilities

Requirements
- Engineering degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mining Engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain one
- 5+ years of experience in mining hoisting systems or related heavy industry
- Experience with hoisting equipment maintenance, repair, and installation
- Knowledge of safety regulations and standards applicable to hoisting operations
Nice to have
- Experience with headframe structural design and analysis
- Familiarity with PLC controls and automation systems
- Experience with mine hoisting safety systems and emergency protocols
- Knowledge of mine ventilation and its interaction with hoisting systems
