Key highlights
- Salary: $500 - $1,000 USD / month
- Job Type: Part-time / Remote
- Schedule: 3+ hours weekday overlap with Bangkok (GMT+7)
- Key Benefit: Work directly with founders
Role overview
Vantum helps fractional operators win new clients while delivering for the clients they already have. The product is a web app for planning, tasks, calendar, goals, and Ask Vantum, an AI chat that helps an operator decide what to do next. We are a team of five working toward product-market fit, looking for a QA tester to use the live product the way a customer would, write reproducible bugs, and work directly with the founders.
Responsibilities
- Find what is broken, write it so someone else can reproduce it, and check that the fix actually holds.
- Walk the main flows: sign-in, home, plan, tasks, calendar, goals, notes, and Ask Vantum.
- Write each bug so it can be reproduced (including steps, expected results, actual results, page, account state, and screenshots when helpful).
- Recheck fixes: confirm original steps and ensure nearby flows did not break before considering a bug done.
- Notice and file gaps (e.g., buttons doing nothing, saves not sticking, or page display contradicting actual data).
- Ask when a behavior might be intentional without guessing or attempting to redesign the product.
- Follow flows from start to finish, including empty states, errors, and second-time walkthroughs.
- Write bug reports that a stranger can follow.
- Distinguish between display problems and data problems (e.g., page looks saved, but refresh brings old value back).
- Provide evidence using a browser, screenshots, and short screen recordings when steps are hard to write.
- Take ownership by retesting filed bugs and communicating when a bug cannot be reproduced.
- Set a steady weekly rhythm and deliver findings in writing.
Requirements
- Ability to notice when software is wrong and describe it clearly without needing a developer sitting next to you.
- Clear written English communication skills.
- At least three hours of weekday overlap with Bangkok (GMT+7) so bugs can be reviewed the same day.
Nice to have
- Prior QA employment (useful, but not required; testing personal projects, client products, or writing careful bug reports for software you use counts).
Benefits
- See real product decisions, talk directly to the founders, and watch your reports turn into fixes.
- Flexibility of a part-time, remote arrangement.
Additional details
- Compensation: $500 to $1,000 USD per month, depending on hours worked and reporting clarity.
- Working arrangements: Part-time and remote; not a full-time engineering role. Hours are agreed upon during the call.
- Role scope: You are not building features, and you are not writing production code.
- Not required: Test automation experience, a computer science degree, or experience with Vantum's tech stack.
- Hiring process: 1. Written application (reviewing bug description quality), 2. Screening call (discussing tested products and filed bugs), 3. Short live app assessment (walking one flow and writing findings).
- Application requirements: Describe one bug you found that was easy to miss (include steps, expected result, actual result), and provide your timezone, weekday overlap with Bangkok, start date availability, weekly available hours, and expected monthly pay.
