Role overview
Kayzen is a mobile demand-side platform (DSP) dedicated to democratizing programmatic advertising, serving over 1.6 billion unique users worldwide with 160 billion+ daily ad requests across 180 countries. The role seeks a Senior Software Engineer to join the Platform Engineering team, which owns the Real-time bidding (RTB) platform, real-time budget system, event processing, and data pipelines. This position involves designing scalable software, building data pipelines, mentoring junior engineers, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Design, code, deploy & maintain highly scalable software components
- Optimize data pipeline architecture for large-scale data volumes
- Dive deep into any part of the stack and low-level systems, as well as design broad distributed system interactions
- Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional and non-functional business requirements
- Build systems for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) of data from diverse sources using SQL and big data technologies
- Create data tools for analytics and data scientist team members to support product innovation
- Mentor junior software engineers
- Work closely with data scientists, data analysts, product and business teams
Requirements
- Minimum 5+ years of professional experience working in distributed systems
- Minimum 5 years of experience in coding and implementing complex projects
- Proficiency in Java is a MUST
- Deep understanding of multi-threading, JVM, garbage collection (GC) and profiling tools
- Good knowledge of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and distributed systems fundamentals
- Experience with relational SQL and NoSQL databases
- Proficiency in working in Unix/Linux-based environments
- Degree in Computer Science or a related field
Nice to have
- Hands-on experience with AI development tools such as Claude Code and GitHub Copilot, demonstrating AI usage and agentic coding in daily work
- Experience with C++ or Golang
- Past experience in Machine Learning or Data Science
- Ad-tech or marketing-tech experience
