The Junior SQL Server DBA/Data Engineer will manage and optimize SQL Server databases across on‑premises and cloud environments, handling end‑to‑end administration tasks such as performance tuning, backup and recovery, and data pipeline development. This position, based in Hyderabad, requires a motivated professional with 2–3 years of experience and strong T‑SQL, SSIS, and security expertise.
Responsibilities
- Manage and optimize SQL Server databases across on‑premises and cloud environments.
- Support end‑to‑end database administration tasks, including performance tuning, backup and recovery, and data pipeline development.
- Install, configure, upgrade, and patch SQL Server instances.
- Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies to minimize downtime.
- Monitor database health and performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement tuning solutions.
- Design, develop, and maintain data flows using SSIS, Azure Data Factory (or similar tools), and Python.
- Implement and maintain high availability and disaster recovery solutions.
- Implement and enforce database security policies, including authentication, authorization, roles, and auditing.
- Work independently and collaboratively with development teams.
- Coordinate with the ISMS core team to support ISMS activities and implementation strategies at the company.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 2–3 years of experience in SQL Server Database Administration on both on‑premises and cloud databases.
- Experience in the installation, configuration, upgrade, and patching of SQL Server instances.
- Experience developing backup and recovery strategies to minimize downtime.
- Proficiency in monitoring database health and performance, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing tuning solutions.
- Expertise in T‑SQL, including writing, debugging, and optimizing complex queries, stored procedures, views, and triggers.
- Experience with high availability and disaster recovery solutions.
- Experience implementing and enforcing database security policies, including authentication, authorization, roles, and auditing.
- Proficiency with SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS).
- Experience designing and developing data flows using SSIS, Azure Data Factory (or similar tools), and Python.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with development teams.
- Coordination with ISMS core team to support ISMS activities and implementation strategies.
