Role overview

Miaplaza is dedicated to making education engaging and accessible through innovative online learning platforms, developing personalized learning experiences for K-12 students. The company is hiring a QA Engineer to join its growing QA team, focusing on expanding automated test coverage, improving release testing processes, and embedding quality throughout the development lifecycle. The role involves a mix of manual and automated testing, with a transition toward modern practices using Playwright and TypeScript, aiming to make testing faster, more reliable, and less dependent on last-minute changes before releases.

Responsibilities

  • Write and maintain automated regression tests
  • Review automation merge requests (MRs) from peers
  • Execute manual testing across web UIs (functional, regression, cross-platform, responsive layouts on mobile/tablet)
  • Create and maintain test cases, checklists, and test documentation in TestRail
  • File clear, actionable bug reports with reproduction steps
  • Collaborate with developers to triage and resolve bugs
  • Own the release testing process to ensure only high-quality changes ship
  • Partner with Product Managers (PMs) and designers on requirements review, edge cases, and acceptance criteria
  • Contribute to QA process improvements as the team scales (currently a 2-person team growing to 4)

Requirements

  • 2+ years of QA engineering experience, including web UI testing
  • 2+ years of experience with Playwright or a similar test automation framework (e.g., Cypress, Selenium, Puppeteer)
  • 2+ years of experience using TypeScript
  • Strong test design skills: comfortable writing and maintaining test cases, checklists, and test documentation
  • Familiarity with QA's role in the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and how to collaborate with developers and PMs
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Upper-intermediate English (B2+) for written and spoken communication
  • Strong experience in manual testing and writing manual test cases

Nice to have

  • Experience with accessibility and/or security testing

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation, open to negotiation based on experience and expertise
  • Remote-first work arrangement with tailored time off, benefits, and perks as part of individual contracts
  • Defined career ladder with growth opportunities toward Senior/Staff QA Engineer or Engineering Management
