Oliv.AI is a SalesTech global startup headquartered in San Francisco, debuting the world's first team of AI Agents for sales. With recent $5.2M Seed funding, Oliv solves unreliable deal data for revenue teams by capturing Deal Intelligence from every meeting, call, and email—without rep involvement—presenting it in scorecards built on trusted sales methodologies like MEDDICC, BANT, and SPICED. This role is a visual craft position for someone with excellent taste, strong UI sensibility, and pixel-level attention to detail, owning website pages, landing pages, ad creatives, brand collateral, and selected product UI surfaces. The designer will work directly with the Design Lead, own problems end-to-end, and mentor a junior designer on the creative side, treating taste as a discipline and ensuring pixel-perfect outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Own product design end to end: understand the user's job, define the flow, design the UI, spec the edge cases, and see it through engineering to what actually ships — like a product owner, not a ticket-taker.
- Design across both worlds at a high bar: dense enterprise SaaS screens (dashboards, tables, workflows) and expressive marketing/brand work (landing pages, graphics, decks, illustration direction).
- Work inside and extend the design system (shadcn-based) — and know when a rule should be deliberately bent, and be able to defend why.
- Concept visuals that argue a point: metaphor-driven graphics, staged product screenshots, composed sections — not decoration, not screenshot dumps.
- Mentor one junior designer on creative craft: moodboards, references, critique, and finish.
- Use AI as a core part of your workflow — for exploration, asset production, iteration speed, and quality passes — while owning every output as your own judgment.
- Collaborate tightly with engineering, marketing, and customer success; communicate decisions in writing, take critique without ego, and hold your deadlines under pressure.
Requirements
- 3+ years in product design with shipped SaaS work; startup experience strongly preferred.
- A dual portfolio — at least one complex product flow (real constraints, real density) and one marketing/brand piece (landing page, campaign visual, or deck) that you designed end to end. Applications without both will not be reviewed.
- Exceptional visual craft: typography, spacing, color, and hierarchy as explicit skills you can articulate — not instincts you can't explain.
- Systems fluency: you've built or meaningfully maintained a design system, and your files show it (tokens, components, naming, zero orphan styles).
- AI-native workflow (hard requirement): you already use AI tools daily in your design process and can walk us through exactly how they've changed the way you work. Manual-only workflows are a non-starter for this role.
- Obsessive finish: micro-alignment, real content in mocks, states covered, nothing placeholder. You self-QA before anyone reviews you.
- Ownership and accountability: you solve your own blockers, flag risks early, deliver under pressure, and never route feedback to 'that wasn't my edit.'
- Responsive design mastery (hard requirement): you design fluidly across desktop, mobile web, and native platform conventions — breakpoints, adaptive layouts, and touch ergonomics are second nature, and your portfolio shows the same screen resolved at multiple sizes.
- Expert in Figma; comfortable across modern design and prototyping tools.
Nice to have
- 3D/illustration direction, motion, or advanced visual craft beyond UI.
- User research, usability testing, or QA experience.
- Experience mentoring designers or leading large projects.
Benefits
- Highly competitive compensation from a US VC-funded startup.
- Meaningful equity with terms you'll actually be able to benefit from.
- Unlimited paid time off, sick leave, and a flexible remote (India) workplace.
- Every tool you need — including the AI stack.
- Flexible hours; we care about the standard of what ships, not when you're online.
- A design culture with an explicit, written quality bar — you'll always know what 'done' means.
Additional details
- How We'll Evaluate You: Portfolio review against the dual bar above — craft and reasoning, not logos. A design exercise mirroring real work: one product screen + one marketing section from the same brief. A critique session: we'll look at work together — yours and ours — and see how you think, defend, and take a punch.
