We're seeking an Engineering Manager to lead two engineering pods focused on AI Agents across the content homepage, video editor, and adjacent AI initiatives. You will own outcomes end-to-end, partnering with Product and Design to define roadmaps, drive predictable delivery, and raise engineering quality bars. You’ll build a high-performing team culture, develop talent, and continuously improve processes while advancing our AI agent capabilities in core product surfaces.
A people and delivery leader who translates strategy into clear plans and measurable outcomes, de-risks execution across multiple work streams, mentors engineers, and communicates crisply with stakeholders. Strong technical judgment in platform or full-stack systems and experience setting engineering standards at scale.
Responsibilities
- Manage up to two pods and take full ownership of their projects. Plan, de-risk, and deliver on time with strong SDLC and release rigor.
- Establish and uphold standards for code quality, testing, observability, and operational readiness.
- Own engineering metrics and OKRs. Communicate progress, risks, and mitigations proactively to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Product and Design to clarify requirements, propose solutions, and co-create the roadmap for AI Agents on homepage, editor, and other AI initiatives. Drive crisp scope, prioritization, and trade-offs.
- Hire, onboard, mentor, and grow engineers across levels. Recognize performance, address gaps, and foster a collaborative, high-ownership culture.
- Lead at least one engineering-wide initiative and continuously improve processes within and across teams.
- AI Agents for homepage and editor experiences, including: assisted creation, editing, and automation workflows in the editor; homepage agent experiences that generate, summarize, and personalize content; additional AI initiatives such as transcript-driven workflows, content generation and enhancement, analytics-driven iteration, and quality evaluation loops for AI outputs.
- Execution hygiene and scale: roadmaps, RFCs, engineering docs, experimentation and A/B testing, analytics and tracking, tech-debt management, and release planning to ensure reliable, iterative delivery at scale
Requirements
- 10+ years in software engineering with 2+ years managing engineers or serving as a Tech Lead Manager across multiple workstreams
- Strong technical judgment in backend or full-stack systems and the ability to guide designs and architecture for scalable, maintainable solutions
- Proven track record of delivering complex projects on time, improving team processes, and raising engineering quality bars
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management with Product and Design
Nice to have
- Experience with AI/ML-enabled media or content workflows, transcript-based processing, and quality evaluation for generated content
- Familiarity with experimentation and analytics stacks for iteration and measurement
- Operating experience in high-growth or startup environments leading multiple pods
