The Engineering Manager – Construction Methods & Planning will be responsible for developing and managing construction methodologies, project planning, logistics strategies, and equipment deployment plans for high‑rise building construction projects. The role ensures safe, efficient, and timely execution of construction activities in coordination with engineering, construction, procurement, safety, and project management teams.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review construction methodology statements for major structural, architectural, and MEP activities.
- Develop sequencing plans for excavation, substructure, superstructure, façade, finishing, and external works.
- Evaluate alternative construction methods to improve productivity, safety, quality, and cost efficiency.
- Coordinate temporary works requirements including formwork, scaffolding, access systems, lifting platforms, and protection systems.
- Prepare detailed project execution plans and short-term / long-term construction schedules.
- Coordinate with planning engineers for baseline schedule development and progress monitoring.
- Identify construction constraints and propose mitigation measures to maintain project timelines.
- Support look-ahead planning, recovery planning, and milestone achievement strategies.
- Develop site logistics plans considering restricted urban high-rise project conditions.
- Plan material movement, storage areas, unloading zones, tower crane coverage, hoists, access roads, and traffic management.
- Coordinate logistics interfaces among contractors, vendors, and site teams.
- Optimize site utilization and material handling efficiency.
- Prepare equipment deployment plans for cranes, hoists, concrete pumps, batching plants, generators, and other construction machinery.
- Analyze equipment capacity, productivity, utilization, and maintenance requirements.
- Coordinate equipment mobilization and demobilization schedules with project requirements.
- Ensure compliance with statutory inspection and certification requirements.
- Coordinate with design consultants, structural engineers, MEP teams, and construction managers regarding constructability issues.
- Participate in design reviews to improve constructability and execution efficiency.
- Support value engineering initiatives related to construction methodology and equipment selection.
- Ensure construction methods comply with project safety standards and statutory regulations.
- Incorporate safe work practices into all method statements and execution plans.
- Coordinate with HSE and QA/QC teams during method review and implementation.
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, method statements, logistics drawings, and equipment schedules.
- Maintain records of approved methodologies, planning assumptions, and equipment data.
- Provide periodic updates to project management on planning and logistics status.
- Deliver approved construction methodology plans.
- Deliver detailed construction schedules and look-ahead plans.
- Deliver site logistics plans and traffic management plans.
- Deliver equipment deployment and utilization plans.
- Deliver constructability review reports.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (B.E./B.Tech) from a recognized university.
- Experience: 18 – 25 Years overall experience in building construction projects.
- Minimum 5 years of experience specifically in construction method planning for high-rise building projects.
- Hands‑on experience in construction planning, logistics planning, and equipment planning for high‑rise residential, commercial, mixed‑use, or tower projects.
- Strong knowledge of high‑rise building construction techniques.
- Proficiency in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
- Ability to prepare and interpret construction method statements, logistics layouts, and equipment plans.
- Good understanding of tower crane planning, vertical transportation systems, and temporary works.
- Knowledge of construction safety regulations and best practices.
- Strong analytical, coordination, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications.
Nice to have
- Master’s Degree in Construction Management / Project Management is preferred.
- Overall experience in building construction projects is preferred.
- Experience with multinational construction companies, EPC contractors, or PMC organizations is an added advantage.
- Experience in projects with basement + podium + high-rise tower construction.
- Experience in congested urban construction sites.
- Exposure to BIM-based construction planning and 4D sequencing is desirable.
- Ability to lead multidisciplinary planning and engineering coordination meetings.
