Join Pythian as a Network Engineer, providing 24/7 network support to global enterprise clients and handling escalations and severe cases in network operations. You will administer complex networking solutions across data centers and remote offices, collaborate with ISPs, clients, and onsite teams, and ensure reliable, secure network performance.
Responsibilities
- Administration and Management of complex networking solutions in enterprise data centers and remote offices worldwide.
- Configure and troubleshoot Enterprise LAN and WAN environments.
- Implement security measures such as access control lists (ACLs) and firewall policies to protect the network.
- Coordinate with ISP, clients, and onsite technical teams to troubleshoot network and security incidents.
- Provide permanent remediation for affected endpoints in the network environment.
- Document network issues related to incidents with in-depth event logs, RCA, and evidence.
- Perform IOS/firmware upgrades on Cisco network devices as required.
- Facilitate P2/P1 technical calls from the network side, de‑escalating situations and delivering clear updates to clients.
- Manage client interactions and escalations, ensuring client satisfaction and timely resolution of critical issues.
- Handle multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining analytical and problem‑solving focus.
Requirements
- 5‑10 years of experience implementing and managing multi‑vendor network solutions.
- Extensive experience in routing and switching.
- Prior experience collaborating with global clients from the US, Europe, and APAC regions.
- Must have experience in enterprise network operations handling escalation and severity cases.
- Advanced knowledge of ARP, MAC Address Table, VLAN, Spanning Tree Protocol, EtherChannel, Switch Stacking, HSRP/VRRP, Access Lists (ACLs), and NAT.
- Hands‑on experience configuring and troubleshooting Cisco Catalyst and Nexus switches.
- Comprehensive knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VPN technologies (IPSec, GRE), and routing/switching principles.
- Hands‑on experience implementing security measures such as ACLs and firewall policies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with proven ability to manage client expectations and handle high‑pressure situations.
- Analytical and problem‑solving skills focused on delivering effective solutions and efficiently managing client escalations.
- Ability to document network incidents with detailed event logs, root‑cause analysis, and evidence.
- Capability to perform IOS/firmware upgrades on Cisco devices.
Nice to have
- Good to have experience configuring and troubleshooting Cisco wireless controllers and Aerohive products.
- CCNA or CCNP certifications are an asset.
