The Senior DevOps Engineer role involves designing, automating, deploying, monitoring, and troubleshooting scalable infrastructure to ensure high availability and reliability of mission-critical systems. The ideal candidate will drive infrastructure initiatives, optimize deployment processes, and collaborate with development teams to improve operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, automate, and maintain highly available production infrastructure.
- Build and manage CI/CD pipelines to enable reliable and automated software delivery.
- Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot containerized applications on Kubernetes.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot production issues, and implement performance optimizations.
- Collaborate with development and engineering teams to improve deployment reliability and operational efficiency.
- Implement infrastructure security best practices, vulnerability management, and secure deployment processes.
- Plan and execute infrastructure migrations, upgrades, and platform improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- 5 to 7 years of hands-on DevOps experience supporting production environments.
- Strong expertise in Linux Administration, system troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
- Hands-on experience with Docker, including image creation, Dockerfiles, container networking, and container lifecycle management.
- Strong experience with Kubernetes (K8S), including Deployments, Services, Ingress, ConfigMaps, Secrets, Scaling and troubleshooting production workloads.
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD and/or Jenkins.
- Strong experience with Terraform, Ansible, and Shell Scripting for Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation.
- Experience deploying and managing infrastructure components such as Redis, Aerospike, ZooKeeper, Kafka, HAProxy, Consul, Load Balancers.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, SSL/TLS, Routing, Firewalls, and production network troubleshooting.
- Good understanding of Linux kernel fundamentals, hardware, system performance optimization, and capacity planning.
- Experience implementing infrastructure security, code scanning, vulnerability assessment, and secure deployment practices.
- Ability to independently design and execute infrastructure migration or platform modernization projects.
Nice to have
- 1+ years of hands-on experience with AWS, particularly infrastructure provisioning using Terraform.
- Kubernetes certifications such as CKA or CKAD.
- Experience designing and building Kubernetes clusters from the ground up.
- Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines for Windows-based applications and environments.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience working in high-availability production environments.
- Ability to own infrastructure projects with minimal supervision.
- Good communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience working in client-facing or enterprise environments.
