Senior Database Administrator - PostgreSQL / Data Warehousing - Exp: 10-12 Yrs - Mumbai

Role Summary: We are seeking a highly experienced, hands-on Senior DBA with strong expertise in PostgreSQL, data warehousing, MongoDB, and BI tools to strengthen our data engineering team. You will be responsible for designing, managing, and optimizing our database infrastructure, building robust data pipelines, and ensuring 24x7 data availability, security, and performance. Key Responsibilities: - Database Architecture & Maintenance: Design, configure, and maintain PostgreSQL and MongoDB databases for high availability, horizontal scalability, and peak performance. - Data Warehousing & Pipelines: Architect and implement enterprise data warehousing solutions and optimize robust ETL/ELT pipelines for both structured and unstructured data. - Performance Engineering: Actively monitor database performance, fine-tune complex queries, design efficient indexing, and execute data partitioning/sharding strategies. - BI Integration: Enable business intelligence and analytics by seamlessly integrating production databases with tools like Metabase and Snowflake. - Security & Compliance: Implement and maintain stringent database security, encryption protocols, automated backups, and disaster recovery (DR) solutions in compliance with data privacy regulations (GDPR, HIPAA, etc.). - Collaboration & Mentorship: Partner closely with backend engineers, data analysts, and product teams to support application scalability while mentoring junior team members on database best practices. Required Skills & Qualifications: - Experience: 10-12 years of core experience in database administration and enterprise data management. - Database Expertise: PostgreSQL (partitioning, indexing, query optimization) and strong hands-on proficiency with MongoDB (replication, sharding, performance tuning). - Data Engineering: Proven experience in data warehousing design, schema architectures (SQL & NoSQL), and ETL/ELT frameworks. - BI & Cloud Ecosystems: Familiarity with analytical/BI tools (Metabase, Snowflake) and cloud-native database solutions (e.g., Azure Cosmos DB, Azure Database for PostgreSQL). - Infrastructure Management: Deep understanding of backup/recovery strategies, high availability clustering, and strict data security compliance standards. - Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities, communication skills, and technical leadership capability. Good to Have: - Prior experience in Cybersecurity, Fintech, or enterprise SaaS platforms. - Familiarity with streaming technologies (Kafka, Event Hub) for real-time analytics. - Exposure to data lakes and big data tools (Spark, Hadoop). - Knowledge of Python or Shell scripting for database automation.
