The Network Engineer is responsible for ensuring a stable, secure, and high‑performing network infrastructure that supports business operations and system connectivity. The role focuses on designing, maintaining, and optimizing network systems while minimizing downtime and performance risks.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring uninterrupted network connectivity across systems and users
- Strengthening network security and access controls
- Improving performance, reliability, and scalability of infrastructure
- Delivering well‑configured and secure network infrastructure
- Maintaining high system uptime with minimal disruptions
- Providing efficient troubleshooting and quick resolution of network issues
- Creating clear documentation of network architecture and configurations
- Configuring and maintaining routers, switches, firewalls, and network devices
- Monitoring network performance and proactively identifying potential issues
- Troubleshooting connectivity, latency, and performance‑related problems
- Implementing network security measures including VPNs and access controls
- Supporting network upgrades, patches, and infrastructure improvements
- Collaborating with IT and infrastructure teams for system integration
- Maintaining documentation for network configurations and processes
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- 3–6 years of experience in network engineering or network administration
- Strong knowledge of networking protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP
- Experience working with routers, switches, firewalls, and enterprise networks
- Familiarity with network monitoring and diagnostic tools
- Understanding of network security, VPNs, and access control systems
Nice to have
- Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent
- Experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)
- Familiarity with hybrid or distributed network environments
