Engineering Manager
We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead high-performing engineering teams and drive the successful delivery of scalable, cloud-native technology solutions. The role is responsible for managing end-to-end project execution, mentoring engineers, fostering engineering excellence, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to build resilient, secure, and high-performance platforms. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with proven people leadership and agile delivery experience in a fast-paced product environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead one or more technical projects with moderate to high complexity from inception through production deployment.
- Manage and mentor a team of software developers and quality engineers, driving technical excellence, performance, and career growth.
- Collaborate with multiple cross-functional Agile teams to successfully deliver high-quality products and platform enhancements.
- Design and develop scalable solutions using Java, Python, or PHP along with modern open-source frameworks.
- Build distributed systems using microservices and event-driven architecture to ensure high availability, resilience, and scalability.
- Drive engineering best practices across software development, CI/CD, cloud-native application development, and DevOps.
- Lead Agile ceremonies, capacity planning, and sprint execution while proactively removing delivery impediments.
- Participate in hiring, talent development, and retention initiatives to build and grow high-performing engineering teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 10 years of overall experience, including at least 5 years in software engineering.
- Strong proficiency in Java, Python, or PHP and modern open-source frameworks.
- Experience building distributed systems using microservices, event-driven architecture, and streaming technologies such as Kafka, Spark Streaming, or Kinesis.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, cloud-native application development, Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS services including Route 53, EC2, S3, Lambda, and databases.
- At least 2 years of people management experience with the ability to lead and manage teams of up to 8 members.
- At least 1 year of experience with AWS. At least 2 years of experience using agile methodology practices
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, sprint planning, capacity planning, and engineering delivery processes.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, mentoring, and problem-solving skills.
Nice to have
- Experience working in FinTech, SaaS, or other large-scale distributed systems.
- Hands-on experience designing highly available, resilient, and scalable cloud architectures on AWS.
- Exposure to DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), and infrastructure automation practices.
