Position: Senior Engineering Manager — AI-Accelerated Software Delivery
Reporting to: Senior Vice President of Technology
Primary Responsibility: Deliver software end-to-end at high velocity and quality using Claude Code, and multiply team output by establishing the standards, reusable frameworks, and enablement that scale AI-accelerated delivery — while coaching, mentoring, and leading engineers and cross-functional contributors.
We are hiring senior, hands-on technical leaders to define how we build software in the era of AI-assisted development. This is a player-coach role: you will personally deliver across the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) and the adjacent disciplines our teams cover — platform and product engineering, client implementations, business analysis, quality assurance, and project/product management — using Claude Code to ship faster and at higher quality. You will then codify what works into repeatable standards, playbooks, and tooling, and drive their adoption through hands-on coaching and team enablement.
Responsibilities
- Own and deliver work end-to-end with minimal oversight — from requirements and software architecture through implementation, testing, and release — across the full SDLC.
- Use Claude Code as a core part of your daily workflow to materially accelerate delivery without compromising quality, across diverse work types: platform/product engineering, client implementations, business analysis, QA/test automation, and project/product management.
- Make sound software architecture and system-design decisions independently; scope ambiguous problems and drive them to completion.
- Establish and document reusable standards, playbooks, prompts, workflows, and internal tooling for AI-accelerated development — the kind you rely on yourself and that others can readily adopt.
- Mentor, coach, and upskill engineers, analysts, QA, and project managers; lead teams to faster, higher-quality outcomes and drive adoption of AI-assisted development practices.
- Raise and enforce the bar for engineering quality, software architecture, and best practices through code review and technical leadership.
- Apply strong critical thinking and sound technical judgment — challenge assumptions, identify better approaches, and continuously improve developer productivity and delivery throughput.
- Share techniques, learnings, and measurable outcomes across the organisation to compound team-wide productivity.
Requirements
- hands-on, production experience with Claude Code — you must be able to demonstrate, in a live working session, materially faster delivery at high quality across multiple task types
- 8+ years building and shipping production software, including experience as a Senior/Staff Engineer, Technical Lead, and/or Engineering Manager
- Strong software architecture and system-design expertise; deep, full-stack technical proficiency and the ability to work independently with minimal direction
- Breadth across the delivery lifecycle — able to contribute to and lead software engineering, client implementations, business analysis, QA/test automation, and project/product management
- Proven track record of improving engineering velocity, developer productivity, and delivery quality (e.g., through standards, automation, enablement, or process improvement)
- Experience establishing engineering best practices and mentoring, coaching, or managing engineers and cross-functional teams
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders and to teach and enable others
- Experience with Agile/Scrum delivery and CI/CD, and a consistent commitment to high-quality software
Nice to have
- Experience with other agentic AI coding assistants such as Cursor or GitHub Copilot is a plus but does not substitute for hands-on Claude Code experience.
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills; intellectually honest and willing to challenge the status quo.
- Self-directed, ownership-oriented, and effective with autonomy in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.
- Genuine passion for teaching, mentoring, and multiplying the effectiveness of others.
- Early adopter of emerging AI developer tooling, with the judgment to apply it where it adds real value.
