Monitor database health, performance, and availability.
Perform database performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing.
Configure and manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.
Implement High Availability (HA), replication, and failover solutions.
Troubleshoot and resolve database issues in production and non-production environments.
Perform database patching, upgrades, and migration activities.
Ensure database security, user management, and access control.
Work with development and DevOps teams to support application deployments.
Create and maintain database documentation, SOPs, and operational procedures.
Participate in on-call support and production issue resolution when required.
Requirements
Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL architecture and administration.
Experience with PostgreSQL backup and recovery tools (pgBackRest, pg_dump, pg_basebackup).
Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL replication (Streaming Replication, Logical Replication).
Expertise in database performance tuning and query optimization.
Good understanding of Linux/Unix operating systems.
Experience in database migration, patching, and upgrades.
Knowledge of High Availability solutions such as Patroni, Pgpool-II, or similar tools.
Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Nagios, or Zabbix.
Good understanding of SQL, PL/pgSQL, and shell scripting.
