As a UX Designer for YouTube Shopping, you will be instrumental in crafting simple, high-quality, and highly interactive e-commerce and video commerce user experiences on mobile and living room platforms. You will independently lead the design process for key shopping features (such as interactive storefronts, cross-device post-click experiences, purchase and post-purchase flows) from concept through launch, producing user flows, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes. Collaborating closely with Product Managers, Engineers, and Researchers, you will translate complex requirements into intuitive and engaging designs that seamlessly blend entertainment with commerce. You will ensure design consistency by leveraging and contributing to YouTube's design system, always advocating for the user to deliver exceptional social shopping experiences.
Responsibilities
- Independently drive the end-to-end design process for features within YouTube Shopping from ideation to launch, with minimal guidance.
- Translate complex problems and user needs into simple, high-quality, and intuitive design solutions for video-driven e-commerce, product discovery, and interactive shoppable experiences.
- Produce a range of design artifacts, including user flows, wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, and interactive prototypes, effectively communicating design intent for features like creator storefronts, and checkout paths.
- Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Engineers, and UX Researchers to define requirements, explore concepts, and ensure technical feasibility and design consistency across the purchase experiences.
- Utilize and contribute to YouTube's design system, ensuring visual and experiential coherence across YouTube Shopping features on both mobile and desktop.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 4 years of experience with visual design in product design or User Experience/User Interface (UX/UI) design.
- Include a portfolio, website, or any other related link to your work in your resume (providing a viewable link or access instructions).
Nice to have
- Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience working in a complex, cross-functional organization.
- 1 year of experience leading design projects.
- Experience designing consumer-facing products.
