Spreetail is looking for a Software Engineer II to join our team. As a Software Engineer II, you will work independently on moderately complex tasks across backend and data domains. You’ll build, optimize, and maintain services and pipelines that power our next-gen advertising platform. Responsibilities
- Deliver backend services and data features that meet performance goals and support the team’s roadmap.
- Take ownership of your code from design through production, ensuring reliability and maintainability.
- Bring a problem-solving mindset to unfamiliar challenges and adapt quickly.
- Continuously improve your own technical skills and contribute ideas that make the team better.
- Work closely with engineers, PMs, and stakeholders to turn requirements into reliable features.
- Participate actively in code reviews and team planning.
Requirements
- 2-5 years of backend development: Proficiency in Python; experience with FastAPI or similar frameworks.
- Experience with DBT, Snowflake, S3, or AWS Glue. You know how to modify and optimize data transformations.
- Practical experience with Kafka, Redis, PostgreSQL – especially in scalable, production contexts.
- Ability to optimize services and queries for speed and reliability.
- Experience building performant APIs to serve large datasets.
- Available work-from-home setup with specific system requirements: 4th generation or higher, at least Intel i3 or equivalent processor; at least 4GB RAM; Windows 10 and above or MAC OSX operating system.
- Provide your own dual monitors.
- A strong and stable internet connection (A DSL, cable or fiber wired internet service with 10 Mbps plan or higher for primary connection).
- PC Headset.
- A high-definition (HD) external or integrated webcam with at least 720p resolution.
