We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Junior Database Administrator (DBA) with 1–2 years of hands‑on experience managing Microsoft SQL Server (or other RDBMS) environments. The ideal candidate will support database performance, availability, and security, while assisting in maintenance tasks like backups, restores, and monitoring.
Responsibilities
- Support database performance, availability, and security
- Assist in maintenance tasks such as backups, restores, and monitoring
- Create and manage SQL Server Agent Jobs
- Perform database performance tuning and optimization to improve efficiency of slow‑running queries and processes
- Develop and execute backup and recovery strategies, including restore operations and disaster recovery planning
Requirements
- 1–2 years of hands‑on experience managing Microsoft SQL Server or other RDBMS environments
- Strong knowledge of relational database management systems (RDBMS) and database concepts
- Proficient in writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, user‑defined functions (UDFs), and triggers
- Good understanding of the ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) process
- Hands‑on experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
- Experience creating and managing SQL Server Agent jobs
- Ability to perform database performance tuning and optimization
- Experience with backup and recovery strategies, including restore operations and disaster recovery planning
