The Customer (CIS) organization securely enables the business by protecting assets and information across Customer, infrastructure and applications. CIS integrates cybersecurity governance, policies, technologies and operations across Customers locations and works to incorporate security into the design of technology systems and services. We are seeking an enthusiastic technologist to aid in monitoring and reporting on server patching. This will be a hands-on role that tracks available security patches by platform and reports on their installation across an environment with tens of thousands of servers.
Responsibilities
- Maintaining up to date information on available OS and application layer patches.
- Pulling patch records from Windows and Linux (including production)
- Pulling patch records from patching platforms of record
- Pulling together reports to present evidence large slices of information in an easily consumable way
- Analysis and comparison of existing inventory solutions.
- Definition, measurement and reporting on operational KPIs.
- Presentation to cross-functional stakeholders and Sr. leadership to ensure the awareness of and ongoing success of the vulnerability reporting and management programs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
- Four or more years of relevant work experience.
- Three or more years of experience either in patch management or as a systems administrator.
- Experience with BI tools and building reports.
- Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills, detail oriented & organized approach, excellent communication, developed interpersonal skills.
- Ability to be someone who understands high level concepts to ensure success at scale, but is comfortable getting “hands on” with data.
- Experience with the full stack of information technologies and associated security models - including server/OS, database, hardware, network devices, user compute, application/SDLC, etc.
Nice to have
- Master's degree.
- Previous DBA experience.
- Experience in database solutions, sufficient to work with large datasets (1MM+ records).
- Strong communication skills.
Additional details
- The successful candidate must be comfortable pulling results directly from a host or from patching solutions and then working with results in a DB platform capable of managing hundreds of thousands of records.
- Building successful relationships with the system and process owners will be of paramount importance.
- Success will require someone to be very data and process driven, yet have a personality that can champion progress while facilitating positive relationships with both technical (i.e. IT, cyber-security) and nontechnical (consumer, business) resources.
