The Network Engineer role at TCS in Trivandrum is a key position responsible for managing and supporting the end‑to‑end network infrastructure, including core, distribution, and access layers. The engineer will lead high‑impact network changes, serve as the escalation point for complex issues, mentor junior staff, and ensure network health, security, and compliance across the global infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Manage and support end-to-end network infrastructure covering core, distribution, and access layers.
- Lead and execute high-impact network changes, upgrades, and migrations across global infrastructure.
- Serve as the technical escalation point for complex network issues and major incidents.
- Design, review, and maintain detailed network topology diagrams, configurations, and documentation.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, conducting technical sessions and peer reviews.
- Participate in and lead change advisory board (CAB) meetings and ensure structured implementation.
- Troubleshoot issues related to routing, switching, firewall policies, NAT, VPN tunnels, and traffic flow.
- Maintain network health through capacity planning, proactive monitoring, and tuning.
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and prepare incident reports for critical outages.
- Ensure compliance with network security standards and best practices.
- Coordinate with other infrastructure and security teams for cross-functional projects.
- Provide support for weekend/after-hours maintenance windows and critical deployments.
- Demonstrate technical ownership of enterprise network infrastructure and guide strategic enhancements.
- Exhibit strong documentation and communication skills across all levels of the organization.
- Show readiness to support changes on weekends or after hours, ensuring business continuity.
- Actively mentor and coach junior staff, fostering a learning and performance-driven environment.
Requirements
- 4 to 12 years of relevant experience.
- Valid EP number required before interview (create at https://ibegin.tcs.com/iBegin/register).
- BE/B.Tech/MCA/M.Sc./MS with minimum 3 years of relevant IT experience post qualification.
- Only full‑time courses will be considered.
- Professional skills: strong analytical, problem‑solving, communication, and ownership mindset.
