We’re looking for a Senior Engineering Manager who can lead a large engineering team with a strong focus on people management, execution discipline, and process excellence. It is a leadership role for someone who can manage engineering managers / senior engineers, build strong operating rhythms, improve delivery predictability, and partner closely with product and leadership teams to ship high-quality software at scale. The ideal candidate will bring a strong backend engineering foundation in Python and Django, experience building and scaling SaaS products, and a proven ability to lead multi-team engineering setups with accountability, structure, and high ownership.
Responsibilities
- Lead a 45-member engineering org and own delivery, execution quality, and team performance
- Build the operating rhythm for engineering planning, reviews, releases, accountability, and execution rigor
- Partner with the CTO and product leaders to turn roadmap priorities into predictable, high-quality delivery
- Manage and mentor managers, leads, and senior engineers; raise the bar on ownership, performance, and culture
- Drive engineering excellence across backend systems, APIs, integrations, CI/CD, and platform reliability
- Improve velocity, execution discipline, and scalability without compromising quality
- Work cross-functionally with product, QA, and business teams to remove bottlenecks and ship faster
- Help scale the org through hiring, org design, and stronger engineering processes
Requirements
- 10-20 years in software engineering, with strong experience leading and scaling engineering teams
- Proven success managing 30–50+ engineers through leads/managers in a product or SaaS environment
- People-first leader with a strong operational mindset and the ability to bring clarity, accountability, and execution rigor to fast-growing teams
- Solid technical depth in Python, Django, API design, integrations, and CI/CD pipelines
- Strong judgment, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Able to balance day-to-day execution with long-term team and engineering maturity
Nice to have
- FinTech / Mortgage Tech/workflow automation experience is a plus
